Maturing and reintroducing a payments brand for Stripe Sessions
Yeeld is streamlining payment systems for startups and enterprises through consulting and development support. With their deep experience in payments integrations (the founders are ex-Stripe), you couldn’t be in better hands. After 250+ projects and over 2+ years of bootstrapping, they wanted a brand refresh and website redesign that reflects their growth as a company. And with Stripe Sessions—Stripe’s annual conference—fast-approaching, they had an exciting opportunity to show off their progress and boost brand awareness with a wide audience including industry leaders and potential customers.
The co-founders came to us with a few goals. Brand-wise, they wanted to stand out in a sea of tech and digital commerce brands that often feel cold and overly technical, characterized by jargon and hard, geometric visuals. They wanted a brand that’s human, friendly, and approachable. Their website content needed to speak to a broader, less technical audience while still providing clear and meaningful information about their offering. Structurally, the website needed to more effectively funnel different personas to the right content in order to drive conversion. Lastly, they needed a branded booth backdrop to support their in-person presence at Stripe Sessions.
Starting with branding: Yeeld wanted to keep their logo, but most everything else was up for grabs. Keeping in mind their goal of a more human brand, we developed a new visual language including a color system that builds on their logo’s cool color palette and introduces a few warm accent colors. We also introduced a soft, hand-drawn illustration style to tell their story, in contrast to the hard, geometric shapes commonly seen in their industry. We locked in the brand direction early on using a moodboard of website elements and booth visualizations, to meet the conference’s booth backdrop submission deadline. As for the website, each of their offerings was given room to breathe with dedicated pages. We helped determine the story on each page, what modules were needed, and in what sequence. We ensured visitors could easily self-identify, and that CTAs were strategically placed to encourage deeper exploration and effectively funnel customers to the right offering.
